Sofia Historic Bathhouse to be Offered for Concession
|
The Sofia municipality has officially opened the concession procedure for the construction of the site "Central Mineral Bath - Healing and SPA Center", as announced by the municipality's press center.
The bathhouse is a public municipal property with an area of 5603 square meters. The concession is for 20 years. The future concessionaire must guarantee that the bathhouse will offer mineral water healing and SPA procedures as well as restaurant services.
Other services that are allowed at the bathhouse are fitness, hairstyling and cosmetics and the organizing of cultural events.
The required application documents needed for participating in the concession tender are available at the municipality and can be obtained with a payment document.
On June 12, 2008, after long and heated discussions, the municipal Councilmen decided that the Bathhouse would be given on concession for 20 years and for a minimum yearly price of BGN 750 000 to be turned into a luxury SPA center.
The historic bathhouse is one of the symbols of the old town Sofia. It had closed in 1896 and since then its destiny remains unclear with Mayors and Municipal Council's coming up with new ideas during each term.
